Hey all, it's ZeroHikari
Since people like myself Jailbreak their apple devices, i thought i might put a Jailbreak tutorial up I'll update this topic every time a new firmware is released, and make sure that all jailbreaks are UNTETHERED
If you don't know what that means, descriptions are as follows:

IOS 5.0.1 Firmware (Choose your iDevice! Make sure it's the right one!):

1. DOWNLOAD ALL FILES LISTED IN THE DOWNLOAD SECTION ABOVE! (Right click Redsn0w and set to run as admin in windows, it's funny like that)
2. Plug in iDevice, making sure to transfer purchases and make a backup in-case it goes wrong, so you can recover
2B. Run Redsn0w Program (make sure set to run as admin on Windows 7 Systems)
3. Click Extras Button -> Select IPSW and Browse for latest IOS file (check downloads section)
4. Hit BACK button -> Jailbreak.
5.Making sure the Device is plugged in and turned off, either hit NEXT or Follow the on screen instructions or below
5. Hit next and follow the on screen instructions, they are as follows (you can do this before running redsnow as well, after transferring & backup): a. Hold down the power button for 3 seconds b. Continue holding the power button and start holding the home button and continue HOLDING BOTH for 10 seconds c. Let go of power and continue holding home button for 20 seconds (even after it skips to the next screen! YOU MUST COUNT TO 20 ON YOUR OWN)
6. Wait for jailbreak to finish and keep an eye on the iDevice (everything happens on there now!)
7. You’re finished, enjoy your new UNTETHERED Jailbreak![/spoiler]
After Jailbreak Setup Below -> this is my setup, make sure your connected to web for this.

1. Open the new Cydia icon (black screen saying its sorting itself out on first use will show) a. Press user (every time u open Cydia now, you will get a black bar at top saying downloading packages etc, dont do anything till it vanishes) b.do the following: press Sources -> edit -> Add -> type in cydia.hackulo.us -> add source -> done c.Wait for sources to sort themselves out. go back to sources and click on new link d. click on and install the following ->
AppSync 4.0+ (makes apps sync with iTunes, unless you dont want that) Crackulous (if you want to crack purchased apps and upload to web for others to download) Hackulous Resources & Security (resources for installous, security to keep malicious apps away) Installous 4 (Personal fave, installs apps for free that you would need to pay for, translations = optional if you don't speak english) Source GUI (source icons etc)
You can install add-ons for cydia, such as my faves: Five Icon Dock (instead of 4 icons), five Icon folder (endless folder, slight 3 second lag opening folder), Five Icon Switcher, Five Column Springboard. Note however, some addons may be in blue rather than black, this means you have to pay for those. (you will also hear the word springboard alot, that's the desktop where u see icons etc)
2. Use Installous and install free apps. Although its good, technically it's illegal to download without paying. you're hardly likely to get caught, but if you're willing to take the risk i hold no responsibility! works the same as the app store, except you're downloading off websites suce as FileDude and fileApe, rather than the store. All apps are user cracked and uploaded.
3. Install Winterboard This is what is used to change your current theme, i.e. change the colour of text, the lock screen etc. this meshes with SpringBoard You can get themes for free, adn it will automatically restart the screen and apply theme changes Download themes Via Cydia to use in winterboard.
4. keep all jailbreak programs above into one folder you can't accidentally delete, but it keeps them separate from utilities etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED FOR iPAD2 and iPHONE 4S BELOW - only works on a MAC for now!!! (will update later) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things you need:

IOS 5.0.1 Firmware (Choose your iDevice! Make sure it's the right one!):
1. Download Absinthe from the download section above and run it (external link)
2. Plug in your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to your computer and click “Jailbreak”
3. Leave your device plugged in and do not touch it until you see the “Almost done” message in Absinthe on your computer screen
4. Open the Absinthe app with your device still plugged in – if you get a Database error, continue to step 5 (otherwise let it finish and you’re done)
5. Open the Settings app, toggle on the new “VPN” option and let it finish (it’s extremely important that your device remains plugged in)
After following those steps - go back up the page and follow the "After Jailbreak Setup" section
Feel free to comment below with any problems you may have and I will get back to you.
NOTE: I hold NO RESPONSIBILITY for any problems with your iDevice such as breaking, losing apps or bricking the device. I've given the safest instructions as clear as possible, and will offer help to resolve problems. Jail-breaking is completely legal, downloading the apps for free isn't unless you delete within 24 hours and re-install. the process can be reversed by simply restoring the iDevice to it's factory defaults via iTunes, so it can be sold again or sent to Apple for Repairs.
Following my Tutorial means that you have read this note, and by no means can sue me or claim legal damages for your own mistakes

Just for all the noobs that are interested in doing it, but didn't know how. it's quite simple and useful, sine redsn0w are usually one of the first 3 groups to post a solution first. iPad 2 is still being worked on as we speak by GeoHotz and another dude (can't remember his name)
