The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game
for Microsoft Windows set in a fantasy universe based upon J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth writings.
It takes place during the time period of The Lord of the Rings.

On June 4, 2010 Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that The Lord of the Rings Online will adopt a free-to-play model.

This looks interesting, I really liked the Lord of the Rings games on Xbox and PS2.

Never played it, but the client is free to download on my IP
which is where I stumbled across it.

I figured someone may find it useful if not myself
It got pretty high ratings too
