For anyone interested here are some links for world of warcraft
You have two options here
Option 1
Download the trial client from Blizzard (just the basic, no expansion packs) With this you get a 10 day trial for the official servers
You can also get the patches direct from Blizzard or use the inbuilt patching system
After that you can play on private servers for free Here's a link for the one I play on which has a good community and custom content AFAIK it is an America server
Code:
http://www.wowtorn.net/
You will find everything you need to get you up and running there They have 3 servers, 1 high rate, 1 blizzlike & 1 instant lvl 80 so something for everyone, as long as they like wow
Be aware that private servers support a specific patch Only update to that patch or you will not be able to conect
You can find other private servers using this little known tool

I personally prefer private servers as they are free The only cost is if you choose to donate to the server fund
The only thing wowtorn ask is that you vote for them on the top 100 private server lists Which is not too bad considering they provide a great, reliable, and friendly server
There is also another expansion pack due out soon too.
btw if you don't have internet usage limits your best off with the second link as it downloads all 3 packs in one go

The way it works is similar to Monster Hunter, you get given quests to complete on your road to level 80 And you also have the opportunity to play 1v1 fights or join up with a group for raids on the enemy. The raids are usually advertised on the wowtorn forum so you know when they are due
It is fun though, just a little life consuming if you let it, but isn't every game nowadays?

Soldier of fortune 2 almost had the same effect for me, joined a clan and spent waaaaay too much time playing it. A bit like MW2 but 10 years ago

I have MW2 as soon as my cousin comes over and gives it to me.
Anyways, now that I know about Xpadder and I find a good private server I may redownload Wow and give it another chance.

I've been using it for Fable which it works perfect with but not sure how WoW will be with it.
